May Roundup
April was a very busy month in our lovely little community!
Screven kicked off the month the best way we know how—by celebrating our 75th Annual Livestock Festival! The 2026 Livestock Parade was a joyous event as always, but this year was especially exciting with the largest lineup we’ve seen in several years-- over 80 participants. The parade beautifully showcased our diverse community and its deep-rooted agricultural heritage. Thank you to the Livestock Association for your continued partnership in this cherished tradition.
The Chamber of Commerce had the pleasure of bringing the community together over great food on two occasions this month. We hosted a Lunch Mob at Little Dipper Coffee and Ice Cream to celebrate new owner Michael Burns and wish her great success on her new business journey. We also gathered for dinner at El Caballo to celebrate their two-year anniversary-- a wonderful milestone for our community. Congratulations to El Caballo on this achievement!
A Very Special Field Day continues to be a true blessing for our students and community. Some of our Board of Directors had the privilege of volunteering at this meaningful event. A special thank you to Occupational Therapist Cassidy Boyd for doing a fantastic job organizing and leading this year’s activities.
Billie Jo’s Place celebrated their first year in business with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, and we were honored to be part of such a special occasion. With live music, great food, and a birthday celebration open to all, they truly marked their first year in style.
To round out the month, the Screven County Chamber of Commerce hosted the 3rd Annual Golf Tournament at Briar Creek Country Club. This event is always a fun and memorable time for everyone involved. Thank you to all of our Hole Sponsors, Food Sponsors, and our Presenting Sponsor, Queensboro Bank, for helping make this event such a success.
