Waynesboro Burke County Concert Series: Lara Smith & Local Honey
Lara Smith, a singer-songwriter from Elberton, Georgia, graduated from Belmont University in Nashville with a degree in Commercial Music, focusing on Vocal Performance. With a powerful, bluesy, rock-infused voice, she has performed at iconic Nashville venues like the Bluebird Cafe and was a soloist in the PBS special “Christmas at Belmont.” Lara has co-written many songs and worked as a studio vocalist with various recording studios. A multi-instrumentalist, she plays guitar and keyboards. Raised in a musical family, her father influenced her style. Lara’s performances span classic rock, country, blues, jazz, and gospel, with her musical journey starting at age 4, singing in church.

Hotel California, The Original Tribute to The Eagles, recreates the iconic sound of The Eagles, having performed with legends like the Doobie Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and REO Speedwagon. Since 1986, they’ve toured globally, thrilling audiences in places like Tahiti, Dubai, Japan, and Bermuda. Their dedication to faithfully capturing the Eagles’ music has set them apart from other tribute bands. Hotel California’s stage show is now one of the most popular productions on North American festival circuits, with original members in their strongest lineup yet. Fans return time and again to experience the warmth and nostalgia of the 1970s Southern California sound. With a history of performing in bands like The Guess Who and April Wine, the members bring unmatched expertise to every performance.
Waynesboro Burke County Concert Series: Deas Guyz
A long-time favorite of the Waynesboro-Burke Concert Series, Deas-Guyz delivers an energetic mix of Old Motown, Rhythm & Blues, Pop, Rock, Reggae and Dance beats. Originally formed in 2000 as Nu World Beat, the band has since evolved into the tight, dynamic group known as Deas-Guyz. They’ve graced stages in cities like Chicago, Orlando, Las Vegas, New York, and Hilton Head. With their infectious energy and diverse sound, Deas-Guyz guarantees a lively performance that will have you dancing all night long.
Screven Christian Academy Blood Drive
Screven Christian Academy is hosting a Blood Drive on Monday, September 15th from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. We’d love for our community to come together and help save lives through this important cause.

Admission: Bring a cake, a box, and a love for conversation.

Here’s how it works:
Bring your cake entry to a SCCOC representative so they can place it on our Cake Picnic tables. One per person.

Waynesboro Burke County Concert Series: Brandon Davis
After a nearly fatal car crash in 2019, Brandon Davis realized just how short life can be and was determined not to waste another minute. With the support of his family, he picked up his guitar and began releasing country song after song, quickly catching the attention of millions as People Magazine and more began sharing his story and music. His second song ever released, “Step by Step” landed no. 4 on the Billboard charts and garnered fans across the world. In 2022, Brandon opened for Tim McGraw, touring across the U.S. This small-town Tennessee family man is quickly making a name for himself, putting on a show you won’t want to miss!

Christmas Extravaganza
This year’s Christmas Extravaganza “Candycane Lane” will be on December 14th, 2024 from 3-7 pm in Downtown Sylvania, GA. It’s one of our biggest community events of the year—a long-standing Screven County tradition. Visit with Santa, ride the mechanical bull, eat from one of the many food trucks open that evening, and shop at all of our downtown merchants that are open late for this fun holiday event! The event ends with a light parade at 7 pm.
Downtown Fall Festival
The Annual Fall Festival in Downtown Sylvania will be October 25, 2024 from 5-7pm. This fun for all ages family friendly event will have free games and activities for kids, food trucks, local vendors and more!
Daycare Trick-or- Treat
Our local daycares love to participate each year in this fun trick-or-treat adventure in Downtown Sylvania. We encourage all downtown businesses to participate in this event on Friday October 25, 2024 from 10am-12pm.
Nova Music Sylvania Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting
Join the Chamber and Nova Music Sylvania for their grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting on Saturday, August 10th 2024 from 10am-2pm. They will have raffles, prizes, and a food truck.
